Client Brief & Background
Umeed Education & Welfare Society is a grass-roots non-governmental organization headquartered in Dodhpur, Aligarh, registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 with tax exemption certifications under Sections 12A and 80G of the Income Tax Act. For over a decade, Umeed's dedicated team of educators, university scholars, and social workers has been running free remedial coaching centers, distribution of school textbooks and uniforms, female literacy initiatives, and vocational skills programs for underprivileged children across Aligarh and adjoining rural blocks including Atrauli, Jawan, and Chharra.
Having empowered more than 2,500 students to complete their secondary education and gain admission into vocational institutes and university courses, the society faced a significant scaling bottleneck: their fundraising and donor relations were almost entirely reliant on offline word-of-mouth appeals, cash collections, and informal WhatsApp messaging. Mohammad Tariq, General Secretary of Umeed, approached Aligarh Web Solutions to build a compassionate, high-integrity digital platform that could substantiate their grassroots impact, establish bulletproof institutional transparency, and streamline national and international contributions.
The Challenge: Donor Hesitancy, High Payment Friction & Trust Deficit
In the non-profit sector, digital conversions depend almost entirely on absolute credibility and transparent stewardship. Our audit revealed four fundamental roadblocks restraining Umeed's outreach:

✓The Institutional Trust Deficit: Contemporary donors—especially high-net-worth alumni and corporate CSR committees—require verifiable legal proof before contributing. Umeed's lack of a public repository for 80G certificates, annual audited balance sheets, and trustee profiles created hesitation among prospective benefactors.

✓Severe Donation Drop-Off: Interested donors were required to manually copy bank account numbers, configure NEFT/IMPS transfers via net banking, and send screenshot confirmations to an administrator over WhatsApp. An estimated 70% of interested supporters abandoned the process due to friction.

✓Lack of Tangible Cause Attribution: Donors wanted to sponsor concrete educational outcomes (such as a full year of books for one girl, or a winter uniform set) rather than contributing to an ambiguous general pool.

Dignity-Centered Visual Identity
Non-profit design often relies on sorrowful imagery that strips beneficiaries of dignity. We deliberately rejected this trope, implementing a vibrant royal violet (#7c3aed) and warm sunshine gold theme symbolizing hope, scholastic achievement, and optimism. Photography emphasizes smiling students learning in well-lit classrooms, working on computers, and celebrating graduation milestones.
Radical Transparency & Governance Repository
We built a prominent "Transparency & Legal Accreditations" section directly on the homepage. Donors can view and download certified PDF copies of the 12A registration, 80G tax exemption approval letter, PAN, NITI Aayog Darpan ID, and three consecutive years of audited financial statements prepared by independent chartered accountants.
Frictionless One-Tap UPI & Instant 80G Receipt Automation
To eliminate transaction abandonment, we engineered a direct UPI deep-link and QR payment engine. Supporters can select predefined contribution tiers (₹500 for stationery, ₹1,500 for uniform & shoes, ₹6,000 for full annual schooling) or input a custom amount. On mobile devices, tapping "Donate via UPI" immediately invokes Google Pay, PhonePe, or Paytm with the transaction note pre-populated. Upon successful submission, donors instantly receive a digitally signed 80G acknowledgement receipt via email and WhatsApp.
